Saturday, August 21, 2010   Click here for the Friday, August 20th Schedule    Special Festival Events THE 13TH ANNUAL CHOPTANK “RIVAH”RUN Departing from Martinak State Park off Deep Shore Road in Denton A fun, two-mile paddling event for children and adults of all ages (children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult). Any type of paddle craft is eligible for the “poker run.” Each paddler stops at a series of checkpoints staffed by the Coast Guard Auxiliary #44 and the Choptank River Yacht Club flotilla where they will receive a playing card and at the finish, the best five-card poker hand wins the top prize, a Vapor 10 Kayak. Local businesses have contributed over 20 other prizes for distribution to the other winning poker hands. Pre-registration cost is $10.00 per person and includes a t-shirt for everyone registered by July 30 compliments of Impressive Printing in Hillsboro. A limited supply of canoes are available for rent. Registration is recommended in advance. Fee the day of the event is $15.00 per person.  Click here for 2010 registration form.
